KAWASAKI RACING TEAM MXGP AND MX2

Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP

Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP enters its fourth season of contesting the FIM MXGP Motocross World Championship under the managerial leadership of ex-GP winner Antti Pyrhönen and with former F1 world champion Kimi Räikkonen as team principal.

The cool Finnish duo have built a dedicated technical workforce and boast two riders with "world champion" on their CV in Romain Febvre and new signing Pauls Jonass.

Fully-supported by the formidable Japanese manufacturer in terms of race machines plus technical and engineering personnel, the team will again enter the fray with the very latest KX450-SR.

Kawasaki has played a major role in the FIM Motocross World Championships for half a century, using the lessons learnt racing - and winning - in the world's premier off-road series throughout that time to continually develop and refine the Lime Green machines fans can purchase at their Kawasaki dealerships.

Kawasaki Racing Team MX2

Kawasaki's dedication to the FIM World Motocross Championship will be further enhanced in 2025 as the Kawasaki Racing Team returns officially to the MX2 series - the stepping-stone to MXGP using 250cc four-stroke technology - for the first time since 2004.

KRT boasts an illustrious history in the class with world titles for Sebastien Tortelli and Mickael Maschio in 1996 and 2002 before handing responsibility for the official participation, with continued success in the class, to satellite teams.

A considered decision to return to the class with direct factory commitment has led to the formation of Kawasaki Racing Team MX2, housed in the same workshop and under the same managerial set-up as the KRT MXGP team, to provide a seamless development within the Green family.

The first talented youngster to benefit from the scheme is French teenager Mathis Valin, who made his first steps in adult motocross last summer as he guided his KX250 to the FIM European EMX250 title.
